Ship Song Tab

I Remember / Ship Song (Boo Hewerdine)
--------------------------------------

This is on Boo Hewerdine's second album, Ignorance. It's in Ab (capo at 1),
but the following is written as though it's in G at the nut.

The bit between ^^^^^^^ and vvvvvvvvv is "The Ship Song" written by Nick
Cave. The rest is written by Boo Hewerdine.

[Intro]:

      GD x 2

I remember the yellow room

A face I've never seen since

A picture on the far wall

My hands on the bars

And I remember asking about ugliness

and I remember the sky was broken

and I remember rain

on the other side of the road

and I remember the colour was wrong

and I remember a dream about darkness

and I remember the sound of birds

and I remember careless talk and I remember blood
and I remember an imagined place, running, laughing

and I remember a white cat with no tail

I remember the letter I gave to her husband

and I remember a terrible secret

and I remember jumping from the 14th step

and I remember pink ribbon in grey hair

and I remember 7:30 1969

and I remember standing in the hall

with strangers

and I remember leaving

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Come sail your ships around me and burn your bridges down
we make a little history, baby, every time you come around
Let loose your dogs upon me and let your hair hang down
You are a mystery to me, every time you come around.

Your face has fallen saddened now,
you know that the time is right

for me to let go your wings **

and you, you must learn to fly

repeat "come sail your ships . . ."
vvvvvvvvvvvvvv

I remember

I remember

I remember

leaving

      GD
oooh oooh etc.

end on

All chords are standard (open) shapes.

I personally think that the third line of the bridge in the Ship Song (**,
above) sounds better played the same as the first two lines (i.e. Am, Em, C),
but that doesn't seem to be what's going on on the CD.

Any comments, corrections, etc. welcome.
