Poor Cow Tab

by Peter Bjorn And John

NOTES:
-The whole song is played with bar chords, although A sounds fine open obviously. I
to match the timing to the lyrics.
-For the E chords play the bar chord, not the open.
-The bits in the chorus that go A A A E or A A E, try to slide up from the A to the E
you're playing an open A).
-The riff goes along with the words Peter sings, just follow them as you listen to get timing.

Riff:

SONG:

When all is gone, and things go wrong,
[Riff]
We don't need them anymore.
    C#C#B
The artifacts and all they lack,

[Riff]
We don't need them anymore.

I don't have the means, and so it seems
[Riff]
For now I can't participate.

But I've waited long,

Now the dollar's strong again,

[Riff]
I still can't participate.

When we don't consume it seems we are immune

To all of the thoughts they sell,

You know as well as I, that's a lie...

'Cause I want to spend, I want to spend,

In a never-ending story, but it always ends.

I want to spend, I want to spend,

In a never-ending story, but it always ends.

And when I die, the angels will try

[Riff]
To count all my belongings.

To measure my worth, pure gold, solid dirt,
[Riff]
To see if I'm worth keeping.
Lyrics

But the house I rent and the car I drive,

I'm sorry but they ain't mine.

You know as well as I, that's no lie...

'Cause I want to spend, I want to spend,

In a never-ending story, but it always ends.

I want to spend, I want to spend,

In a never-ending story, but it always ends.

And it always ends, and it always ends...
