Hey There Lonely Girl Tab

by Eddie Holman

Originally recorded by Ruby and the Romantics as 'Hey There Lonely Boy';
a much bigger hit in this regendered version by Eddie Holman. Not sure
where this was recorded, but the stuttering bass line and minimalist
string arrangement point toward Philadelphia.

                        "Hey There Lonely Girl"
                       (Earl Shuman / Leon Carr)

	/
Let me make your broken heart like new

Hey there lonely girl, lonely girl
	/ [N..]
Don't you know this lonely boy loves you

Verse 1:

Ever since he broke your heart

	You've seemed so lost

Each time you passed my way

Oh, how I long to take your hand

	And say "don't cry

	I'll kiss your tears away"

[repeat chorus]

Verse 2 (first three lines sung by background singers):

(You think that only his two lips
	 Can kiss your lips
And make your heart stand still)
But once you're in my arms you'll see
	No one can kiss
	                              [key change to ]
Your lips the way I will, the way I will

Chorus (in ):

Hey there lonely girl, lonely girl

Let me make your broken heart like new

Hey there lonely girl, lonely girl

Don't you know this lonely boy loves you

Coda:
