This song was /___________________________________/ Jackson 5's breakthrough single back in 1969, and it was written by some of the songwriters working for the newly-started record company Motown, on which it was also released. Motown was the first record company ever to be owned by African American's and it was therefore obvious that fice black boys were chosen to front the label. Back then Jackson 5 were still just figurehead for the company and hadn't really any influence on their career yet.
