Another summer slipped away without me noticing
At least you had the decency to say "I'll see you later"
The streets are wider here
I watched you disappear
Such a simple thing became so complicated
But I watch my shadow shorten
Ankle deep in autumn
Remember when I said you were to young to start a story
with "remember when"?
Well that was then
And this is appalling
And in the dappled sunshine
Underneath the clothesline
We spent this afternoon
Nostalgic for this morning
And From a certain angle
The skyline untangles
