I Got A Line On You Tab

I GOT A LINE ON YOU
Spirit

This is how we played it --it's pretty close to Spirit's original.

intro and main riff
The D's and E's are kinda sloppy middle strings on the 7th and 9th frets. I usually
the second strike on the B's letting the first hit ring out.

--7-7----------7-7----------------------|
--7-7---7-9----7-7---9-7----------------|
--8-8---7-9----8-8---9-7----------------|
--9-9---7-9----9-9---9-7----------------|
--9-9----------9-9----------------------|
--7-7----------7-7----------------------|

on line 3, strum out the chords

Let me take you baby,

down to the river bed

Got to tell you somethin', go right to your head

Cause I got a line on you babe (see note below for backgrounds)

I got a line on you

(this verse maintains the riff all the way through it -- there no "line 3")
Gotta put your arms around me
With every bit of your love
If you know what to do, I'll make love to you
Cause you got the right line to make it through these times

I got a line on you babe
I got a line on you

Main Lead is played over an E chord (7th fret) --Just hold the E chord thru the whole
sometimes sliding from the Eb.

I got a line on you babe
I got a line on you

(back to the first verse pattern with a special "line 3")

You know my winter's almost over

My summer, she's comin' on strong

I can love you, love you, love you, love you all year long

I got a line on you babe
I got a line on you babe
I got a line on you babe
I got a line on you babe
I got a line on you babe
